Templed Out in Bagan

We were blown away by Bagan. Before coming to Burma, we never heard of this wonder of the world, and even after arriving here, we did not expect it to be as phenomenal as it was.

Imagine an area of sixteen square kilometers. Now imagine that over a couple hundred years, kings, princes, and rich people went temple crazy. They build thousands of religious monuments, ranging from little four meter stupas to huge multi-story temples. The area is flat and sprinkled with trees and shrubs, and looks absolutely amazing. You can climb on top of some of the temples to get a good view from the top. Words cannot describe this.

Unfortunately, due to the hazy weather we did not get to see a sunset here, but the postcards are simply mind blowing. Instead, we’ve spent two days in a horse-drawn buggy going around admiring this amazing landscape.
