We took a quick trip to see a floating village on the massively large Tonle Sap lake which figures prominently on the map of Cambodia. The village was just that – a collection of houses, shops, and other buildings you would find in any other village. Each was sitting on top of a barge-like structure and was anchored not to float away. There was even a catholic church, a school, and a floating basketball court. All around local people row or motor around in boats. Many tourists come here and there is no shortage of begging. Kids in bowls paddle around from tourist boat to tourist boat chanting “one dolla mista”. We stayed for a very scenic sunset over the lake.
